My take on Daddy Warbucks in my middle school production of Annie Jr. probably left something to be desired, but nevertheless, it ignited my passion for performing and I haven’t looked back since. I obtained my Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music where I studied Voice—in addition to Flute—and minored in Drama. My experience includes musical theatre, choral singing, opera, children’s theatre, background work, and more.

Am I the right fit for your next project? I’d love to work with you! Whether on stage, screen, or a soundtrack, I bring a high level of professionalism, discipline, and respect to whatever’s on the page or in the score. Get in touch or explore more of my work in the links below.

A young man sitting cross-legged on a stage playing an acoustic guitar, with a surprised or confused expression on his face. He is wearing a plaid shirt and jeans, with another person standing nearby. Grease Doody Totem Pole Playhouse.
...it is the remarkable and charismatic Christian James Potterton who is the hands-down star attraction of the cast...he nails every moment, sings wonderfully, and has stage presence galore. He lights up the stage. This actor is always involved and in the moment. Particularly impressive is how his face reacts in a multitude of ways to the actions and spoken comments of others—a nod, a little smile, a shrug, his body collapsing in despair, a furrowed brow showing worry or confusion, sighing with frustration (a different set of sighs when his beloved comes by)—without resorting to cartoonish overplaying.
Bravo!

The two juvenile leads, Christian James Potterton as Hero, who looks like a Jack about to climb a beanstalk...are both sympathetic and surprisingly fertile sources of humor.”
— New York Sun
He offers impressive vocal training and technique, but, more importantly, he creates a lovable and relatable character for the audience to cheer and for whom they hope will succeed.
— My Entertainment World
Dancing and choreography were solid, especially with Christian Potterton standing out as a capable Ren, commanding attention with his moves on the stage.
